Frequently Asked Questions

Why are sessions in Asia listed as coaching and not counselling?
In Australia, my practice operates as counselling under PACFA registration. Outside Australia, professional indemnity insurance doesn't extend, so sessions are offered as coaching, a different legal container, not a different standard of care. The same clinical training, ethical framework, and professional supervision apply in every session, wherever we meet.

What is PACFA and why does it matter?
PACFA ~ the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia is the peak national body for counsellors and psychotherapists in Australia. Certified Practitioner status requires a recognised qualification, ongoing supervision, continuing professional development, and adherence to a professional code of ethics. It's not a weekend course. It means you're working with someone held to rigorous, independently regulated standards.

Is coaching the same as therapy?
Not technically, but in this context the difference is more legal than practical. The skills, frameworks, and ethics I bring to a coaching session are the same ones that inform my counselling work. What changes is the liability structure, not the quality of care.

Who are these sessions for?
Anyone navigating life transitions, identity, belonging, relationships, or the particular complexity of living between cultures. You don't need a diagnosis to benefit from this work.
